Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis & Pipeline Development

  • Design and implement bioinformatics pipelines to analyze biomedical, multi-omics, and structural biology datasets.
  • Develop graph-based data integration methods for hypothesis generation and causal reasoning.
  • Optimize data extraction and transformation pipelines for AI-driven research applications.

2. Structural Biology & AlphaFold Integration

  • Leverage AlphaFold and related protein structure prediction tools to analyze protein-ligand interactions in longevity and psychedelic research.
  • Integrate predicted protein structures into BeeARD’s knowledge graph for AI-driven hypothesis generation.
  • Explore applications of molecular docking and drug discovery within BeeARD’s multi-agent system.

3. Research & Collaboration

  • Work closely with AI engineers, data scientists, and domain experts to integrate bioinformatics into BeeARD’s multi-agent system.
  • Stay updated with advancements in bioinformatics, structural biology, knowledge graphs, and AI-driven biomedical research, applying insights to improve BeeARD’s platform.

4. Algorithm & Model Optimization

  • Develop and refine machine learning models for biomedical text mining, knowledge extraction, and hypothesis generation.
  • Optimize entity linking and graph traversal techniques for AI-driven scientific discovery.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable and efficient for real-time analysis and inference.

5. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Author clear documentation for internal pipelines, models, and workflows.
  • Present findings and methodologies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, contributing to the broader AI and scientific research communities.

6. Community & Decentralized Research Engagement

  • Engage with BeeARD’s decentralized research community, contributing to discussions on Discord and Twitter.
  • Represent BeeARD at scientific conferences and industry events, building partnerships with research institutions and thought leaders.
  • Contribute to open-source bioinformatics tools and DeSci initiatives, positioning BeeARD as a leader in AI-driven scientific research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a similar role.
  • Experience with biomedical knowledge graphs, ontology mapping, and AI-driven research discovery.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) and bioinformatics tools (e.g., BLAST, Bowtie, GATK, Biopython).
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines for large datasets.
  • Strong understanding of statistics, machine learning, and causal inference in biological research.
  • Ability to work in multi-agent AI systems and integrate bioinformatics solutions into an autonomous research pipeline.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a track record of collaborative, interdisciplinary work.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in a startup or other fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable bioinformatics workflows.
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects or scientific collaborations.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for advanced predictive modeling.
  • Background in science communication or public outreach.
